CLC is led by its elders, served by its deacons, and goverened by its members. Through these "coworkers" (Rom. 12:3-8, 16:1, 3, 1 Cor. 1 Cor. 3:8-9, 21, 12-14, 16:15-18, 2 Cor. 8:23, 9:12, Eph. 4:12, 6:21, Phil. 2:25, Col. 1:7, 4:11-12, 17, 1 Thess. 3:2, 2 Tim. 4:5, 11), our mission of worship, discipleship, and evangelism is carried out.
We recognize the scriptural norm and blessing that churches are led by a plurality of elders (Ac. 14:23, 20:17, Phil. 1:1, 1 Tim. 5:17, Tit. 1:5, Jas. 5:14, Heb. 13:17). However, scripture (1 Tim. 1:3, Tit. 1:5, Ac. 15:13-21) and wisdom indicate a primary leader among the elders, which, for our ministry context purposes, we identify as the “Lead Pastor.”
Deacons serve our mission through their demonstration of service (Jn. 13:1-17).
